Canadian Club 20 year old- brief visit to BC this winter yielded this interesting dram- must say for the price of about $65, I’d go with a few other bottlings. However, it is an interesting pour:
Rye spices, bread, dill, licorice, vanilla, long finish, some chocolate notes, leather on the nose, well balanced and composed 81/100 - it’s good enough in a pinch, but it’s not great and while I would sip it regularly I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, as you sip notes of brown sugar syrup, hints of plum, but also some grain and wine influence notes as well. But they don’t feel as integrated as they could be. A late addition? Or finished influence? My guess they’re playing with the 7% rule here to some degree. .
Will you be joining us for what is set to be a HUGE Australia Day at #thecremorne this weekend ~ there’s nothing like some long weekend fun at the local ~ 207 Unley Road, Unley (don’t forget we also have a @thirstycamelbottleshops_sa drive through) 🥂
