Once along the way to pizza in Milan we came across a beautiful basilica and just couldn't pass by. We were staring at its windows as an old pastor called us asking: "Where are you from?" "Russia" - we said expecting to hear all the stereotypes about russian girls. "Russia is a beautiful place - he said instead - I want to go there in my next life". "Why not now?"- I asked. "I can barely see" - and he showed his almost dead eyes behind the glasses.
Word by word, he told us a lot about this place and even showed a closed for visitors altar (13th century). I couldn't help but found myself telling him the feelings you can only tell to a stranger. I told him how hard it is to live in a foreign country alone. How easily you loose your voice like a fish that swam into different water and can't really breath in it. "Look at the person, not at people" - he said. "Only people create the warmth around you. Find the right ones". I feel that I need to share this story. Since social media r made for it, hope you'll find a grain of truth for yourself too💁🏻♀️ #tbt#milano#oneyearago#italy#wonderland
